This week on Sierra Nevada the heavy snow ploughs were out clearing the area which will become the Snowboard Cross this March.
The FIS Snowboard Cross (SBX) World Cup will take place on the 11th and 12th of March, which will comprise of two trials in the Loma de Dílar area, right in the heart of Snowpark Sulayr.
The course has six banked bends, three jumps and seven uneven stretches, known as dubbies.
There are 110 competitors (70 men and 40 woman), who are amongst the best in the world in this style of snowboard competition.
The event on Sierra Nevada will take place just after the World Snowboard Championships in Bakuriani (Georgia) and before the World Snowboard Championships in Veysonnaz (Switzerland).
