Tree Falls on Passing Car

Wind and rain in the city of Granada on Wednesday caused problems, amongst them a tree coming down on a car.

The incident occurred on Alhamar street around 11.10h with the tree coming down on top of it as the car passed. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.

The city fire service was needed to cut the tree up so that normal traffic circulation could be resumed. They were joined by the city park & gardens, maintenance workers who carted the branches and tree trunk away.

Apart from the car, a street-side cafe also had its table area affected but as it had been raining, none of them were occupied.

A few hours later another tree came down, but this time on the Violin Walk area. It didn’t fall completely but instead, came to rest leaning against the tree next to it. Nevertheless, it had to be removed, obviously.
