A woman climber was killed when a large stone fell on her head as she was preparing to begin a climb.
The incident occured at a popular climbing spot called Via Asteroid Shower in Álora in Málaga, according to the emergency call centre, 112.
It was a climbing companion who alerted the emergency services, explaining that the woman had been killed in the act – it must have been a massive head injury.
Consequently, the controller called out the Guardia Civil, who in turn mobilised their mountain-rescue unit (Special Rescue Group for Mountain Intervention) who recovered the woman’s body.
