Several groups and association had the opportunity to insert items within time capsules on Saturday, which will remain sealed for the next 20 years.

Amongst the objects was a quantity of volcanic ash from the La Palma eruption and a letter from the Mayor, M.ª Eugenia Rufino, describing Salobreña as it is today.

The idea came from the company, 747 Digitalwhich recently installed itself in town, and as part of the inauguration of their offices on New Factory Streetthey provided six, time capsules to be sealed.

The capsules, which are cylinders with a diametre of 10.50cm, were sealed on Saturday at 13.00h to remain closed for the next 20 years. During this time, they will remain in a special showcase designed for the purpose.

They will be in full view during this time, behind a class window at the entrance to the company premises.

The Manager, José Domingo Fernández, and his family placed a letter from him addressed to himself, as well as a photo of him.

Editorial comment: obviously a very good publicity stunt for the company on the day, as well as attracting visitors in the coming days, weeks and years, to the company premises.
