Protección Civil in Almuñécar participated in a drill on Tuesday (25th) morning, practicing for a road accident within a road tunnel.
The tunnel chosen was the N-340 one traversing Cerro Gordo and the accident entailed several people injured and a car in flames.
Obviously, this is still a busy road so it was coordinated with personnel from the State Highway Network the Guardia Civil medical personnel belonging to the Almunecar Health Centertwo fire-fighting units from the Almuñécar Fire Station.
The drill began at 10.00h and concluded by about 11.30h. It was followed by a meeting including all those involved to go over how it had gone and how to discuss points where improvement was needed .
