Lentegí has a new Mayor, Juan Antonio Aneas, following a plenary meeting of the village council.

He announced that his intentions are to push for the sports facilities, renovation work on new street and enlarging the village cemetery.

He also mentioned equipping the publicly owned restaurant at the top of the village and putting it out for lease.

Furthermore there is the project financed through grants (PFEA) which entails doing up the recreational area I don’t want.

He said that in recent years they have carried out a lot of work involving restoring hiking routes that had fallen into disrepair and that they are working on a via-ferrata project (metal rungs set into rock surfaces to aid climbing), for those interested in canyoneering (canyoning) making Lentegí a point of reference in the world of outdoor activities.

However, he doesn’t have much time, unless he is lucky enough to be re-elected in the upcoming municipal elections in May, otherwise his mayoralty will be the shortest in the history of Lentegí, perhaps.
