Almuñécar Town Hall is laying on helpers from the Protección Volunteers on the day of the local elections for voters with mobility problems.

Election Day, in case it has escaped your notice that politicians have been extra nice to people and promising more hand-outs than Santa Claus, is this coming Sunday, the 28th.

This means that the previous day, Saturday the 27th, we will have a bit of peace and quiet from them because they cannot campaign on the eve of the elections.

So, if you are intending to vote in the municipal elections, then phone 958 635 822 or 607 604 620 and you will allotted a helper on the big day, who will swoop you up, whizz you down the voting booths… and abandon you. Just joking of course, they will then return you to your home.

This service will be operative on Sunday between 10.00h and 14.00h and then in the afternoon from 16.00h to 19.00h.

And, no, you can’t ask them to stop by at the shops and no, mobility problems do not include alcohol-induced ones requiring your being picked up at from local boozer…
