The Salobreña, municipal dependency of Lobres will hold a pet carnival with the aim of promoting pet ownership.
The event, entitled the Carnaval Solidario de animales, will take place this Sunday (19th) and is organised by the AMIKO Animal Protection Association.
The big day will kick off at 10.30h and will include informative chats, kiddies’ workshops, a small, charity market, country fayre (grub), competitions and a raffle!
The First Councillor for the village, Nelson Ligero, said that it’s all about highlighting the need to find homes for dogs, etc in animal shelters, as well as offering useful information of caring for pets and their welfare.
Participation is free so it’s a day out for all the family where there will be a bar offering hot food and refreshments, too.
Lastly there will be a catwalk for dogs up for adoption and workshops on dog training as well as the fancy-dress for pets. More info here.
