The two men arrested over the murder of a man in Jayena appeared before a magistrate midday Wednesday and are now being held in prison.

The suspects, father and son, both have criminal records concerning drugs and are now being held in the provincial prison in Albolote, after spending 48 hours in police custody prior to appearing before a magistrate.
According to available information, the two suspects found the man driving his tractor on his own land. The first shots fired hit the vehicle.
The victim tried to make a break for it on foot but was shot down. However, there were at least three people present who witnessed the incident as it unfolded. Apparently, the aggressors finished the victim off with a shot whilst he lay on the ground.
For this reason, despite the prompt arrval of an ambulance, there was nothing that could be done for him. The police arrested the two men that same day.
The motive behind the shooting has not been made public.
