A man was rushed to hospital after being struck by a large rock that had fallen from a cliff behind where he had been staying.
The incident occurred yesterday morning around 07.30h in Cogollos de La Vega in an rural hostel.
A large boulder had become dislodged on the mountain behind the dwelling where the victim was staying, crashing through the roof, hitting the victim.
Units from the medical and fire services were sent to the scene, as well as the Guardia Civil.
The 40-year-old man was immediately rushed to the Neurotraumatology Hospital in Granada.
The area is used by climbers, as can be imagined from the photo. In fact, the only rural hostel that we can find in that municipality is dedicated to climbing enthusiasts.
