As of today, the 16th of May, Infoca is fully activated from here to the end of summer. Normally, this doesn’t happen until the 1st of June.
This decision was pubished in the Official Regional Gazette (COLOR) on Tuesday so that it could take effect from the 16th.
Obviously, the drought and the spate of hill and vega fires has brought this about because the way things are going the fire season is getting longer and longer.
This situation includes a prohibition on all outside fires in the countryside until the 15th of October, regardless of whether the recreational area has stone structures available for BBQs.
These restrictions also mean that you cannot drive through a wooded area – you will find chains up across forest tracks to prevent access. This restriction includes motorbikes.
