The Policía Nacional have finally managed to arrest a suspect, accused of allegedly firebombing the home of a Guardia Civil policeman.

The attack, which happened in the early hours of Christmas Day morning in the city of Baza, appears to have been motivated by the fact that the accused had been fined several times by the Guardia Civil officer belonging to the Traffic Department (DGT).

The fines, several in number, were for, amongst other things, driving without a valid licence as the holder had lost all the points on it.

Police investigators from the start believed that the attack on the sergeant’s home, which occurred around 02.30h was an act of revenge.

The molotov cocktail affected the living room and facade. Fortunately, nobody was injured although residents in the block of flats had to be temporarily evacuated.

For good measure, days before the attack, the suspect keyed the the officers private vehicle.
