The Guardia Civil recovered the frozen body of a missing man near the Mulhacén Peak on the Sierra Nevada.
The remains of the 32-year-old German, who had gone missing in November in that same area, was found in a gap between rocks. He had last been seen in the village of Bubión in the Alpujarra on the 3rd of November.
It was a group of mountain climbers that came across the body and who had alerted the Guardia Civil to its presence.
The GRIM (Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group) was despatched to recover the body, which was no easy task as the victim’s body was frozen to a block of ice.
It appears that the man had tried to shelter from the wind and cold in this narrow gap between rock formations after being caught out by a snow storm.
