Richard Ray Farrell packed the house at the Almuñécar Casa de La Cultura on Saturday night playing some excellent blues numbers.

New Yorker, Ray Farrell has some 13 albums under his belt, amongst them, Down Home Old School Country Blues, recorded with Steve Guyger, which, according to Real Blues Magazinehas been called the best, acoustic, blues-duo album to come out in years.

Richard Ray Farrell, from Niagara Falls, NY (1956) is an American blues guitarist, singer, songwriter, harmonica player and international recording artist. In 1976 Richard started busking and playing professionally in Paris, France. He is comfortable as a solo acoustic artist or fronting his own band on the electric guitar. Richard toured with American artists RL Burnside, Louisiana Red, Frank Frost, Big Jack Johnson, Lazy Lester and Big Boy Henry. Richard formed Farrell & Black in 1995 with Mothers of Invention drummer, Jimmy Carl Black. They produced two CD’s and toured internationally for seven years.

Richard moved to Philadelphia in 2001, formed a band, and began performing with harp veteran Steve Guyger. Richard produced seven CD’s before moving to Spain in 2014.
