Thanks to two officers belonging to the Motril Policia Local, the life of a woman in her 80s was saved after she had become trapped in house a fire.
The fire took place yesterday not long before 09.40h on Francisco Suarez Streetwhich was when an emergency call was made to say that an 84-year-old woman was thought to be inside.
Upon hearing that there was a helpless victim inside, the two officers decided not to wait for the arrival of the fire service but to enter the building and bring the woman out. They found her in a dazed state, wandering through the rooms in her home.
Not without a little difficulty because of the smoke and because of her frailty, they managed to get her out onto the street. She was initially treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and minor burns before rushing her to Santa Ana Hospital.
The officers did not come out of it unscathed, either, and had to receive treatment at a local medical centre for smoke inhalation.
