A driver lost control of his vehicle on the A-7 where it passes through the municipality of Motril.
The vehicle left the lane near one of the tunnels around 10.20h yesterday morning. The Guardia Civil were first on the scene and were able to remove the victim from the wreck.
An ambulance with paramedics on board soon arrived and the victim was rushed to the area hospital in Motril, Santa Ana Hospital.
One of the eastbound lanes (in the direction of Calahonda) was closed off until parts of the car that had been scattered on the surface had been removed by road-maintenance workers.
