Car Accident & Car Theft

Posted on

An elderly driver managed to drop his car into a deep ditch somewhere within the municipality of Salobreña. Incredibly, he was not injured.

This is more than can be said for his car, which ended up on its side, jammed into the ditch. Consequently, it had to be winched out.

Information is scant, but the accident appears to have taken place yesterday morning on or near a road junction over the Rambla de Molvizar.

In another incident during the weekend, but this time in Motril, a car with several people onboard accelerated away from a police road-check. The police gave chase through the streets of Motril and were finally able to make the driver pull over.

The car had been stolen and the driver didn’t have a valid driving licence, which means the driver will face three charges: failing to stop at a control point, being in possesion of a stolen car, and driving without a valid licence.

The Policía Local were later able to return the car to its rightful owner.
