Not to be confused with the Motril Airshow next month, at the end of this one is the Armed Forces Day both in Granada and Motril.

Six aeroplanes and helicopters from the Royal Spanish Air Force practiced fly-overs above the city of Granada yesterday in preparation for Armed Forces Day on Saturday, the 3rd of June.

Things kick off on the 1st of June at 18.00h with a military-band meet with formations from the different armed forces and the Guardia Civil.

The military bands will march through the streets of Granada ending up in the explanade in front of the Congress Palace where they will perform a concert.

There will also be a display of military equipment and personnel on the Bullring on Thursday the 4th at 19.00h.

Meanwhile, in Motril on the 31st there will be naval presence in the port with ship open days and a static display of naval equipment on the dockside. On the 2nd at 17.00h the King will review a military parade in the port, which will coincide with an armed-forces and Guardia Civil display on one of the beaches.

On the 31st and 1st in Motril there will be a free shuttle service from the bus stop next to the Tourist Information Office to the port and back, starting at 09.00h and concluding when the ship visits conclude.

And then back in Granada, the whole thing will culminate with a 700-metre-long, military parade through the streets of the ciy  from New Fountain Avenue, past the Glorieta of Gonzalo Gallas and the Mendez Nunez Avenue as far as Calle Arabial.
