“It was precisely in the last two months, especially December last year that was a the darkest year as far as women being murdered by men, since records were kept,” reads the communiqué, continuing, “so far this month there have already been 18 deaths [nearly one a day] at the hands of their partners or ex-partners.”
The Women’s Center in Almuñécar reported that in this municipality alone there are 60 women who have court orders out to prevent their aggressors from approaching them.
