There was a minor road accident in the centre of the city of Granada yesterday morning involving an ambulance and a car.
The ambulance was carrying a patient to the A&E when it was struck by the other vehicle on the intersection between Parapet walk and Mendez Núñez.
The driver of the car didn’t have time to stop, despite police officers waving him down so that the ambulance could pass on its way to the Hospital Virgen de Las Nieves (traumatology).
The car had been driving along the Parapet walkheading in the direction of Zaidín when it slammed into the side of the ambulance.
This accident obviously caused traffic hold ups, even with the police officers present directing the traffic. The paramedic onboard the ambulance checked to make sure that the car driver was not injured whilst the police breathalysed him; he gave a negative reading.
Nobody was injured.
