The Guardia Civil arrested two brothers, aged 33 and 37, charged with carrying out a mugging in Almuñécar.

The suspects, both of whom have criminal records, allegedly carried out a mugging on the 8th of May at 11.20h on Conception Race in Almuñécar – that’s the area at the top of town where the huge flag is mounted on top of a roundabout fountain feature.

The victims (a couple) were assaulted by two individuals, one armed with a katana (Japanese sword) and the other with a very large knife.

With threats such as, “Give me all you have because I’m going to kill you cuz I’m you know (drugged up)” the male, obviously frightened, handed over 650 euros that he had in a shoulder bag (shoulder bag)
