Alhambra More Expensive | Costa Tropical Gazette News

Getting into the Alhambra next year is going to be a little more expensive, as entrance prices will then cost 14 euros.

The Junta de Andalucía’s Board of Tourism decided to put the price up by 28% because it hadn’t increased in the last ten years and the cost of living certainly had in that time.

The new prices, according to the Regional Official Gazette (BOJA) will take effect on the 1st of January next year. This does not mean that you can’t buy entrance tickets for this world-famous monument now, at the present price, for a visit next year.

The Board of Tourism started looking into raising the price three years ago because of the amount of visitors that pass through its gates. Last year, for example, the Alhambra had 2.7-million visitors.

They came up with the new price after comparing the Alhambra with other similar-level, historic monuments in Spain, as well as calculating how much will have to be spent on maintenance in the coming years.
