A Public Prosecutor has recommended 5-years imprisonment and a fine of 1,200 euros for a man in Motril accused of kidnapping his own nephew.
According to the Public Prosecutor, on the said day the victim was greeted by his uncle upon leaving home, who took him by his arm and informed him, “I’m going to kill you,” and “I’m going to lock you up so you can’t get out,” which does seem a contradiction in intention…
He shoved the victim into his car and took him to an address in Motril where he lived with his alleged accomplices, who like him were of Moroccan nationality. In fact, the two accomplices were in the country illegally.
He reportedly told his nephew that if he tried to escape, he would kill him. He also confiscated his ID etc and put them in the glove compartment of his car.
The case will come to court on the 13th and 14th of June in Granada.
Editorial comment: the original source of this article gives no idea as to the age of the nephew; whether he was a minor or not, nor the reason for abducting him.
